Gooch to Oversee New Media Expansion of Twentieth Century Fox Television Properties
Michael Gooch has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Brand Management and New Media Strategy, for Fox Television Group.
In the newly created position, Gooch, who most recently was Senior Vice President of Strategy, Operations and Ventures for Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), will now be responsible for working across the network, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television Studios to maximize the value of the company’s intellectual property. In addition, he will oversee new media strategies of the studio’s content via video on demand, streaming, syndication and home entertainment. He will report directly to Mark Pearson, Executive Vice President, Brand Management and Digital Media for Twentieth Century Fox Television, effective immediately.
In his most recent role, since 2011, Gooch helped drive FOX’s digital strategy, developing new monetization, marketing, distribution and content acquisition practices. From 2008 to 2011, he was Vice President, Operations, for Fox Networks Group, managing cross-functional planning, resourcing and operational issues for the unit spanning programming, technology, business development, research, advertising sales and finance.
Before that, Gooch was with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Entertainment, Media and Communications practice, working in Los Angeles, New York and Melbourne. During his 11-year tenure there, he worked with such organizations as Hulu, News Corp., DreamWorks, Time Warner Cable, NBC Universal, Oracle, Microsoft and FoxTel, among others.
