Omar Metwally was most recently seen for two seasons on David E Kelley's Big Sky for ABC and on Stephen King's Lisey’s Story for Apple TV+. Metwally’s additional recent television work includes Ramy for Hulu, and Treadstone and Mr. Robot, both for USA Network, as well as portraying Vik on Showtime's The Affair for four seasons. His notable film work includes Steven Spielberg's Munich, Julian Schnabel's Miral, Josh Marston's Complete Unknown and Gavin Hood's Rendition, for which he was awarded the Chopard Trophy at the Cannes Film Festival, given to up-and-coming talent.
Theatrically, Metwally recently finished Lincoln Center Theater’s limited Off-Broadway run of Epiphany. Additionally, he won an Obie award for his performance in Guards at the Taj (Atlantic Theater Company) and received a 2004 Tony Award Nomination for Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Sixteen Wounded at Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre. Other theater work of note includes American Hero (Williamstown), As You Like It (Public Theatre) and Homebody/Kabul (Steppenwolf).
Metwally received his MFA from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
