Indigenous Australian Hal Cumpston at 19 years old wrote, produced and starred in the teen comedy feature film Bilched. Dubbed by critics as the Australian Superbad, Bilched was nationally released in Australia in 2019 and that same year at the Chelsea Film Festival where it received awards for Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, and was awarded the Grand Prix Best Feature Film title.  To American audiences Cumpston is best-known for his leading role as “Silas” in The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Nine Perfect Strangers, Peter Farrelly's feature film comedy Greatest Beer Run Ever and the feature film, The Deb, directed by Rebel Wilson.
