Denise Richards is an accomplished actress, businesswoman, philanthropist and New York Times Best-Selling author of memoir The Real Girl Next Door. Richards made her big screen debut in the cult classic hit Starship Troopers and garnered international recognition for her leading Bond Girl role as Dr. Christmas Jones opposite Pierce Brosnan in The World Is Not Enough. Additional notable roles include Wild Things and Drop Dead Gorgeous, as well as a cameo in the hit romantic comedy, Love Actually.
Richards will next be seen in her own reality TV show on E! titled Denise Richards and the Wild Things, where cameras will capture the ups and downs of Richards' life with her husband, Aaron Phypers, and her kids in 30-minute episodes.
Richards recently completed filming the indie film, Dirty Hands and was last seen in Lifetime's Hunting Housewives. The film follows four friends as they head for a much-needed spa retreat weekend, but suddenly they find themselves downed in a plane crash. With no knowledge of basic survival, the housewives must use their wits and whatever is in their designer bags to try to survive in the rugged wilds.
Richards was also recently seen as the leading role for Nicely Entertainment’s A Christmas Frequency, which premiered on Hulu. Another of Richards’s recent projects is indie thriller Among the Ashes, written and directed by Stuart Altman.
Other film credits include Wickensburg and The Junkyard Dogs, two family-centered films. In the former, Richards plays a recently widowed mother and journalist who moves to an eerie town with her son. In the latter, Richards stars as Monica Sullivan, a single mother soon to be married with two children and bright dog, Houdini. She also starred in the medieval drama series Glow and Darkness, in which she headlined opposite Jane Seymour and Joan Collins. From writer and poet Alejandro Guillermo Roemmers, Glow and Darkness depicts the life of Saint Francis of Assisi. Denise will soon be seen in the Angels Fallen sequel titled Warriors of Peace.
Richards starred in the long-running and critically acclaimed CBS series The Bold and the Beautiful as character Shauna Fulton, a hardworking and fun-loving single mother. Richards starred as a cast member for two seasons in the hit Bravo show, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, instantly becoming a fan favorite.
Richards’ television credits include notable guest appearances on NBC’s 30 Rock, Spike TV’s Blue Mountain State, FX’s Anger Management and ABC Family’s drama, Twisted. Richards co-starred in the Lifetime television film Blue Lagoon, a remake of the 1980 film. Richards was seen in the hit CW comedy Jane the Virgin, as well as Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce on Bravo. She also appeared on her own “E!” television series, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated! about life as a single working mom in Hollywood.
In addition to her work on-screen, Richards has advanced her professional career to develop prime business partnerships and to support causes close to her heart. With her husband Aaron Phypers, Richards formed a non-profit called Quantum Reach Foundation. The foundation brings forward the best innovations in wellness to help children and animals thrive daily. Additionally, her collaboration with Shoedazzle to design the “Eloise” heel raised over $15,000 for the Kidney Cancer Association. As an animal rights advocate, Richards commits her ambitious nature and her love of animals to Best Friends Animal Society as Ambassador. Since her involvement, Richards has furthered the cause, saved lives, raised awareness and fostered her own rescues. Denise joined the Will Rogers Institute’s longtime summer theatrical PSA campaign to benefit Brave Beginnings, a program that works to improve the lives of premature babies by providing hospital grants to purchase essential equipment and critical services.
