Nathan Adrian is an eight-time Olympic medalist in the sport of swimming and a men’s health advocate. He earned two medals (gold, silver) at the 2019 World Championships and five medals (two gold, three silver) at the 2019 Pan Am Games, both just seven months after cancer surgery. Adrian took gold and silver at the 2018 Winter Nationals and captured three gold medals and a silver at the 2017 World Championships. Additionally, he was a four-time medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, won three medals at the 2012 London Olympics and one gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. He has won a total of 42 international medals, 25 gold, 12 silver and 5 bronze. He is also a five-time individual NCAA champion.

 

In early 2019, Adrian announced he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in early 2019 and quickly noticed the stigmas surrounding the open discussion of men’s health issues. He publicized his diagnosis in hopes of utilizing his platform to help combat those stigmas. Adrian shared his cancer journey on the Today Show and was featured by USA Today, The Washington Post, Sports Illustrated and People, among others.
